Terraced boulder planting areas separate the granite gravel driveway from the lushly landscape front entry landing.  Large slab boulders were used to create a naturalistic pathway to the front door.  Deer resistant plants help soften the rocky Hill Country planting beds. 

The updates for the back yard of this Old West Austin home included additional storage and a builtin grill with stone work to match the existing 1930’s structure.  Lush plantings and an outdoor shower were also elements of the design.

Stained concrete and gravel patios with natural steel edges provide
crisp distinction between landscape elements in this terraced front yard.  Landscape lighting and native plants add the finishing touches to the curb appeal udpates.   

 

This 100-ac ranch nestled between Fort David and Marfa, Texas features saw-cut stone patios, a custom built Argentine-style barbecue grill, steel post arbor, fire pit and stone water wall fountain.  Native plants were selected for the arid climate that can at times have extreme wind conditions along with freezing temperature.   

Orleans Harbor, a thirty-three unit condo development on Lake Austin was in desperate need to ditch the hedgerows left over from their 80's establishment plantings.  We worked with the landscape committee to develop a lush plant pallet inspired by the tropical natives found along the Riverwalk in San Antonio, Texas.  A shade arbor was added to the pool area and the exposed aggregate pool patio was exchanged for native slab stone.  The small peninsula park was expanded to accommodate several outdoor gathering spaces. 

A small garden with a lot of style, this 1940's home was remodeled with modern touches while holding on to its classic charm.  The garden spaces include a concrete paver and gravel walkway that leads to an expanded Ipe wood and concrete front stoup.  The back yard design accommodates multiple entertainment areas. 

The existing back patio space was connected to the front of the house with a linear garden path.  With the custom grill cabinet and additional planting space in the side yard, the exterior living space of the home has been expanded.  A mix of flowering plants were sellected to mimic those found in formal English gardens. 

The walkable Muller community leaves little room between the house and curb but with raised steel planters and ample front stoup a vibrant, livable outdoor space can be achieved.  A mix of succulent plants and variegated leaves provide texture with a pop of color while 'salt and pepper' river rock and Mexican beach pebble accent the garden surfaces.
